What we’re about
African American fiction book group. Purpose of the group is to explore current titles authored by new and more seasoned African authors. Open to anyone female, male, race, gender, gender identity, all professions, 21 and over (we can all learn something from each other)/ Let's share a love for reading short stories and novels, current and historical, that feature African characters interacting in the world in growth, development, and learning about love in all aspects and experiences of African American culture and life. This is a new group so our first meetings will be to get acquainted, an share ideas of how we want to grow and develop as a group, make suggestions for meeting places and books that the group has interest in reading and exploring. Looking at meeting once a month so approximately 12 titles per year. Above all, lets be open to new thoughts and ideas. Can explore titles that have some basis in religion, but the purpose of the group is gathering in the community just for fun and exploration of different thoughts and ideas.
