No crowds at this little known trailhead make this a perfect hike to work off that pumpkin pie on a holiday weekend.

This go nowhere hike that has become one of my favorites. Lots to see, great views, interesting rock formations. . Yes, the first (and last) mile and a quarter are on a paved water access road. Thats ok, still fun.

So about 5-6 miles, and 1000 feet of gain. The first mile climbs steadily to the turn off. Once at the turn off, the not too rocky path continues climbing with lots of level places to catch your breath. Neat rock formations and great views everywhere. We will go at least 2.5 miles up, and maybe further...

You cannot enter Snow Creek Village, it is completely privately owned. Just saying. But we walk by a corner of it!

How to get there:
Take Palm Canyon/Hwy 111 northwest out of Palm Springs towards the freeway. Think headed to the Tram. But continue past Tram Road, past Windy Point. Keep watch for the Snow Creek Rd sign on the right, and be ready to make a left turn onto Snow Creek, it comes up with no warning. If you reach the I 10 freeway, you missed your turn.

Coming from the east valley, its easier to take I-10 to Indian Ave exit and turn south. Go to San Rafael Rd and turn right. Go to Palm Canyon/Hwy 111 and make a right. Now follow directions in the above paragraph.

Some of your gps systems may take you up I-10 to the Jct with 111 and back south on Hwy 111. Thats ok too. You will find us!

Dogs ok. Be on time, allow time to find it.

Leashed guests ok too.
