Hello there!

Most of us know the tradition of Gluehwein, and Fuerzangenbowle is very similar - but even better! For new friends, this party is all about a German tradition. We make big pots of mulled wine and set a sugar cone on top of the wine, douse the sugar cone with 151 rum, and set the whole thing on fire. It is quite a spectacle to see and taste.

We look forward to hosting the Feuerzangenbowle again this year and gathering once more. This year marks our 13th time in Dallas, Michael and I (Liz) will host the event at our home in Dallas.

We plan to have the main table outside under the covered patio again this year and more seating and standing space outside - so don't forget to bring layers if it looks like it will be chilly.

Michael and I will be making veggie soups again this year, and we will have some snacks around the house and outside. Feel free to bring a dish to share, if you feel inclined.

It will be a cozy event, with a fire pit running, and lots of Feuerzangenbowle to warm you up.

Standing space inside will be limited, so please make sure to dress for the weather.

Additional notes:

Ubers and Lyft are very easily accessible and plentiful in our neighborhood of Far North Dallas, close to UTD. If you plan to indulge guilt-free (which we hope you do!), please consider using this option.

We do not condone drinking and driving for the safety of all parties involved.

Plus ones are welcome, please just message me (Liz) and let me know you plan to bring someone so we know.

MUST love dogs - or at least be kind to ours. We've got 2 big ones (80+ lbs) who are party dogs through and through.

We welcome you to bring a dish to share, and anything other than Feuerzangenbowle if you would like other drinks.

The address will be sent to attendees a week before the event.
