What we’re about
The Central Coast has many women to connect with. We all have stories about ourselves, who we are and what has happened to us. This group is a safe environment for women who want to help themselves and would like support from others. We believe this can be achieved through sharing our stories, learning from each other and using that knowledge to create our own path. We want to provide a supportive, friendly and relaxing environment for all women.
This Group started in May 2016 and during this time a lot of friendships have been formed. We have a leadership team of 10+ event hosts who dedicate their time to our members at no monetary benefit to themselves.
We organise events throughout the Coast (mainly Gosford to Tuggerah) such as plays; art time; book author talks; trivia; band evenings; brunches; bowling; restaurants; meditation; yoga; concerts; weekends away (North Coast, Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains, South Coast, Sydney CBD... even sea cruises); Friday night and Sunday music and/or cocktail time; walks; kayaks; afternoon teas; and the list goes on! You name it we have probably done it!!
We are aware sometimes there may be a gap in events so if you think we are missing something that could be popular, please reach out. We can also post unhosted events which are successful as well. Please be mindful over 50% of our event hosts work full-time, so if you contact us there may be a delay in receiving a response. If you would like to be an event host, please let us know after you have attended at least three events.
We don't discriminate with age. We do find the mainstream of members are mid-30's to late-50's. We embrace all ages.
The Central Coast Womens Facebook Group is our sister group with over 1600 members. The FB Group supports this Group by posting information about our events. We encourage our members to join both Groups.
We are not affiliated to any other meetup groups but there are many on the Coast that come and go over the years. We are the only womens' Group and welcome single and partnered women to join. Members are always welcome to bring their friends to events - male or female. Some events are female only and this will be written on the event, BUT we also have many outings where males are welcome - we encourage this.
Important information
If you would like to join this group then it is under the condition that you are responsible for your RSVP to events. On some occasions we make bookings for tables at venues and we want to be able to return to these venues. Some venues get frustrated if we book for 10 people and only five arrive. Please remember these are often family businesses. It is also disappointing for the event hosts who volunteer their time, free of charge, so this group can continue. It takes a small amount of time to update your RSVP to 'no' if you are not attending prior to the event commencing, so consider this if you decide not to attend an event. We do remove members if they have three or more 'no shows.' We also remove members if they repeatedly cancel out of an event 'on the day' when a booking has had to be made.
You are also responsible for your own safety. We do not take responsibility for any injury which occurs whilst you are attending an event. Attendance is at your own risk and the expectation is you always consider safety whilst at the event but also when travelling to and from an event.
We monitor our membership numbers and on a quarterly basis undertake a review to ensure our members are attending at least one event every 6 months. If you are removed for this reason (we treat everyone equitably and don't make exceptions so please don't take it personally) you are welcome to re-join if you decide you will attend events.
We are pleased to see this group is so popular and look forward to you joining us and forging your own social network within the group. Our group is about our members socialising, meeting others and supporting each other including supporting our event hosts.
Once you have attended events, if you have had a positive experience, please take some time to contemplate if there are others you know that would benefit by joining this group. We want to help all women on the Coast that may be isolated for one reason or another. Women are always stronger when they have a solid social network!
