What we’re about
This meet-up was created to address a specific problem with learning dance: In a large class setting, there is rarely the opportunity for individuals to stop and work on getting a particular move/sequence smoothed out. Meanwhile, in a social dance setting, it is too noisy and too awkward to try to stop and work through a move step-by-step. This meet-up seeks to provide the opportunity for a small number of dancers to refine their skills together. The format we have in mind for each meet-up would be that we select a small handful of sequences which we want to work on together, as we exchange ideas on how to improve footwork, leads, and styling. This meet-up is targeting "intermediate" salseros/salseras who are already familiar with moves such as: Hammer-lock, copa, check, titanic, sweetheart-pass, dip, cuddle, hair-comb, etc. If you are already very comfortable with all of the above moves then this meet-up might not offer the complexity you're looking for. Likewise, if you're not familiar with, at least, a few of these moves, this may be too advanced for you. We haven't scheduled a date yet. Let us know if you are interested in joining an intermediate salsa practice by joining this meet-up group.
