Details

Are you interested in learning Python to expand your skill set or grow a business? Join Santa Barbara's local tech community for networking and presentations on the world's most popular programming language!

This event will consist of tech talks. We are looking for two 15-20min speakers who would like to share something cool that they are working on (ideally Python related but we are flexible). If you would like to share something, either at this event or an upcoming event, please comment below!

Here are some example talks from past events to give you some ideas:

  • Monoliths, why companies build them, and what to do when they outlive their usefulness (a.k.a. decomposing the monolith), 15-20 min (Daniel Duke)
  • Contributing to open source, 15-20 min (Aman Karmani)
  • Techniques I've learned from over a decade of writing Python (Bryce Boe)
  • Tech speed networking (Julianne Walsh)
  • Django for simple projects or running a business (Sophia Gigliotti)
  • A scalable, developer-friendly backend (Chad Spensky)
  • How to integrate Jupyter Notebooks into your workflow (Lars M)

We will have some time at the end if anyone else has anything they would like to share, so please come prepared! Everyone from absolute beginners to experts are welcome to join.

DIRECTIONS: This event will be held at Kiva Cowork's State Street location downtown. Both the front and back doors should be open, and the gate in the back will be propped open.
