Central Fife Walking Group is all about having fun. We plan to host regular weekend walks, some easier than others. Central Fife Walking Group is all about having fun. We plan to host regular weekend walks, some easier than others, all year round. From late spring into early autumn we shall also include weekday evening walks and maybe the odd cycle. We are keen to, occasionally, include some weekend meetups such as backpacking and camping trips. We shall also include social events and are open to suggestions for future meetups. Members are welcome to contact the organiser or co-organisers if they wish to host a meetup.

In joining this group it is agreed members accept liability for their own safety when attending meetups. The organisers of this group accept no liability for loss or injury caused whilst attending any meet up hosted by Central Fife Walking Group. It is up to the individual to consider and assess the risks involved before taking part in any activity posted by this group.

Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to apply to join the group. Only members are allowed to attend meetups. The organisers can, if they wish, limit the number of people allowed to attend an event.

Any members who wish to join a group event should ensure that they add their name to the RSVP list for events. Please do not simply turn up and expect to join an event. By completing an RSVP it means you accept the terms and conditions of the group. If you cannot attend an event for which you have RSVP’d please remove your name from the event so that the organiser knows you will not be attending. Please be prompt when attending events and be ready to set off at the given time for departure.

All members should take responsibility to ensure they are properly equipped to deal with the climate, changes in weather and the terrain involved in any event. The onus is on members to ensure their fitness levels are suited to their chosen activities. If unsure about anything please contact the event organiser. Members should ensure they carry sufficient food and liquid for themselves.

A great deal of effort goes into hosting walks for Central Fife walking Group. The majority of walks are on core paths and other public paths, which are free for all to enjoy. Whilst the organisers don’t object to folk recording and using the group routes for personal walking purposes, which is absolutely fine, please respect the monetary costs, the time and effort which goes into planning, plotting, carrying out reccies (to ensure each of the walks are safe) and posting these events. With due respect, please ask the walk organisers if they are okay with you recording their routes and give due credit, where applicable. Please do not record and publish routes in apps, online platforms or use to host walks for other walking groups without acknowledging the source as specified by the walk leader.

Members attending outdoor events agree to uphold the Scottish Outdoor Access Code - http://www.outdooraccess-scotland.com/

The organisers are keen to minimise impact upon the environment and suggest, where possible, members travel together to meet ups. Event organisers will give a rough idea about expected terrain, difficulty and duration of a walk. The event host will also give an indication as to any special equipment which may be required for each walk.

We suggest members check out the suggested basic kit list at the following link: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/safety/kitl...

Well behaved dogs are welcome on walks. They should be kept on leash at all times when attending events. Please respect other group members, as not everyone likes dogs. Bear in mind on some walks livestock may be present. In this instance it is up to the host as to whether dogs are allowed to join walks.

Membership fees of £5 per annum are applicable. Fees cover the cost of paying for the Meetup website twice a year. Membership fees run from 1st January until 31st December each year.
