Our 501c3 nonprofit, Chess Vets, has been in existence since 2016. We have received national awards and have US Chess certified coaches and Tournament Directors.

Want a casual chess game? Do you live near Killeen Texas? You DO NOT need to be active duty or a veteran to attend. You do need base access however.

We bring limited chess sets, so bring one to make sure you have a board to play on if you own one. Are you used to playing with a chess clock? If not, Chess Vets will show you how.

Free chess instruction to intermediate level, if one of our instructors is available. Free classes will be conducted as appropriate.

We are there also as Marine Corps League Det 1249. We will be happy to answer any questions you have about the league or joining it.
