Memorial Day at Douthat State Park - Lodge stay and hiking

Join us @ Douthat State Park for Memorial Day Weekend.
This has been on my list forever, and as discussed last camping trip, is the first group stay trip of 2025 ( I missed out on booking the group site tho )
Amid some of Virginia’s most breathtaking mountain scenery, visitors enjoy miles of stream fishing, a 50-acre lake stocked with trout, a sandy swimming beach with a snack bar, boat and bicycle rentals, a gift shop and a camp store, and cabins.
Guests enjoy more than 40 miles of hiking and mountain-biking trails, an amphitheater, playgrounds, picnic areas, tent and trailer camping, and nature and history programs.
We are staying at Beards Mountain Lodge
This frame-built facility is midway up the mountain and is universally accessible. It accommodates up to 16 guests. There are three bathrooms and six bedrooms; queen, queen, two twins, two twins, two bunk beds, two bunk beds.

• Maximum six cars. Additional parking is strictly limited and may not be available. Additional cars pay the daily parking fee.
• Three bathrooms. One bath is universally accessible and is between master bedrooms. The other two baths are shared among the remaining four bedrooms.
• Two bedrooms have queen size beds.
• Two bedrooms have two single beds each.
• Two bedrooms have two sets of bunk beds (four people per room).

This is the way I plan to arrange accommodations. Rather than debate on site, I have worked out differential costs per level of privacy. Also since this is expensive (for me) and I am at risk for losing money, I will set fees higher based on my initial guess for solid bookings, and if open spots fill up, will refund up to half your money proportionally.

Bunk beds, $120 to start, reduced to as low as $60

Plan is to explore hiking Sat and Sun, we will plan out group meals
Monday check out and I most likely will connect with an outfitter to rent kayaks and have them shuttle for a run down the Jackson River rather than bringing my kayak this time. However we can plan as a group for preferences.
Must bring our own linens !!!!
