Please take a moment and read over the following policies and abide by them for your safety and the safety of others. If you refuse to comply, you forfeit your rights to ride with the group.

• Bike helmets are mandatory on all rides; also gloves, bright clothing, eye protection, and a side mirror are highly recommended.
• A headlight and taillight are required for this ride. You will need a headlight that is capable of illuminating the area in front of your bike.
• All riders must be willing to stay with the group because we'll be making many turns on our route. If you pass the ride leader, you are on your own navigation.
• Please have some form of ID with you in case of an emergency.
• Pay attention to the bicycle in front of you
• Call out "Slowing" immediately if you use your brakes or the rider in front of you calls "Slowing"
• Communicate all road hazards you observe to your fellow riders; "Car left", "Hole", "Car passing", etc.
• Make sure you check beside you and behind you and communicate to the other riders if you want to move out from behind the bicycle in front of you.
• Try to stay behind the bicycle in front of you or clearly move into a safe passing lane next to that bicycle; don't ride half-wheel or overlap your wheels
• Communication with your fellow bikers is the key.
• Your bike must have brakes, as required by the Charlotte City code

• Please bring plenty of water and snacks if needed.
• Bring money or a credit card if you want to buy something at the stop.
• Bring a lock for your bike if you want to lock up at the stop.
• Please bring with you an appropriate-sized spare tube for your bicycle.
• Traffic, unpredictable weather, and dog incidents among other risk elements are factors riders assume individual responsibility for when signing up for this ride.
• Ask questions at the start of the ride if you would like clarification of any of these guidelines.

WEATHER POLICY:
The ride may be canceled if it is raining or the temperature is below 45F by 5:00 pm. If the ride is canceled, I will add a cancellation message in the section below. I want everyone to be safe first and foremost. We can always ride another day. Thank you for understanding.

START TIME: Please arrive EARLY, Safety briefing at 6:55 PM, and then we depart at 7:00 PM
DISTANCE: 13 - 15 miles
AVERAGE PACE: 13 - 15 mph (intermediate pace)
DURATION: 2 Hours with a stop towards the end
