Welcome to House of Hemlock + QUEER CLT BOOK CLUB!

We are Gabriel & Fatima, the owners of upcoming pop up bookstore House of Hemlock. We are excited to announce that our book club is not just a place for passionate readers to gather and discuss their favorite books, but also the launchpad for our upcoming bookstore, House of Hemlock. Specializing in a diverse range of genres, we pride ourselves on offering a unique selection of horror, romance, fantasy, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC literature. Our goal is to create an inclusive and welcoming space for all book lovers to discover new favorites and engage in meaningful discussions.

This month at House of Hemlock, we’re diving into Green Fuse Burning by Tiffany Morris, a dark and captivating read from Mi’kmaw author Tiffany Morris. In honor of Native American Heritage Month, our Queer CLT Book Club is celebrating Indigenous storytelling with a haunting novel that will stay with you long after the last page.

Green Fuse Burning follows Sarah Ross, a young Mi’kmaw woman who is drawn into a world of supernatural danger and mysterious connections with the land and her ancestors. Haunted by loss and driven by survival, Sarah must confront powerful forces that threaten to unravel her sense of self, navigating a path where traditional knowledge and the spirit world collide with chilling, unexpected consequences.

Get ready for a discussion about identity, resilience, and the deeply woven ties between humans and the environment. This is a story rich in folklore, eerie atmosphere, and themes of transformation—a perfect blend of the spooky and the spiritual.
