Agenda
• Presentation: "Trustworthy IoT with Rust--and passwords!"
How can you be sure that the network or device you're connected to is truly who it claims to be? One way is with passwords, but a lot can go wrong if not used correctly. This talk introduces a secure password method called Simple Password-Authenticated Key Exchange2 (SPAKE2) and an implementation in Rust of SPAKE2 from RustCrypto's repository https://github.com/RustCrypto/PAKEs/tree/master/spake2. The talk will also introduce SPAKE2+, a modification of SPAKE2 that is used with Internet of Things devices and in particular with the Matter home automation protocol.
• Round the room--something to share?
The purpose of this meeting is to present a technical topic people can talk about and then provide an opportunity for people to share. The meeting is scheduled for an hour, but may end early.
