What is underwater rugby?
Underwater rugby is a six-a-side contact sport, played in a swimming pool that is around 4m deep.
Players wear masks, snorkels and fins and the object of the game is to score by placing a weighted ball in the opposition’s goal, located on the bottom of the pool. At the same time, players defend their own goal and try to win the ball by grabbing hold of their opponents to tackle them.
And all of this happens while players hold their breath!
Who can join?
New players of all abilities are very welcome to join us – you just need to be over 18* and able to swim.
There’s no need to bring any specialist kit – we can lend you that – just let us know you are coming beforehand so we can make sure we have everything ready for you. Your first session is free of charge!
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to find out more about us or about underwater rugby more generally.
We hope you can join us in the water on 4th December!
*We don’t currently cater for under 18s, but we are hoping to change this soon. Therefore, if you are interested in youth sessions, please let us know so that we can keep in touch.
