NOVEMBER IS THE MONTH WE HONOR OUR NATIVE & INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF AMERICA.
This FREE interpretive hike will focus on the history and the lives of the Sauk and Fox Tribes that thrived in the Forest Preserves of Cook County's Sauk Woods and surrounding areas.
We will hike the 3.8-mile trail at a moderate to light pace as we discuss and remember and respect the lives that dwelled there before us and learn where the tribal members are now.
- The 3.8-mile loop / trail is paved
- Moderate hills and inclines along the way
- Family-friendly
- Dress for the weather
- Bring water
- Port-a-potties will be available
- Free parking
- Free to the public
- No registration required
- Trail maps and Indigenous People Month swag for participants
