Chiltern Charity Walks

A throughly enjoyable walk passing through the former home of the philanthropist Sir Paul Getty's " Shangri-la" Wormsley Estate area, surrounding beautiful woodlands, fields and the lovely Chiltern countryside! Last time we saw lots of deer and red kites.
Starting from the Cowleaze Wood Free Car Park we head down through the woods to Vicar's Farm and then after a short climb descend towards Wormsley Estate where we may be able to get glimpses of Wormsley Park House, the Opera Pavilion and the PG cricket ground (constructed after Mick Jagger introduced the game to Sir PG). We link up with the Chiltern Way for a while and walk through the beech woodland of Shotridge Wood before heading to Christmas Common and continuing to the edge of Pyrton Hills before steadily climbing the path between Shirburn Hill and Wood to return to the car park after a good cardio workout!!
This is a moderate walk (approx 7miles total ascent 916ft) but with some steep sections and stiles.u

A chance to enjoy another beautiful walk and area in the Chilterns National Landscape, taking in the woodlands, rolling hills and views.
We start our walk from the school car park and head towards Ibstone then follow the route to Penley Woods and Studley Green before turning homewards. An exciting, varied terrain and route to feel enlightened or maybe tired at the end!!!
This is a moderate walk with some climbs as expected in the Chilterns (approx 8 miles ascent 865 ft )

This popular walk starts from the NT car park located off Pinkneys Drive, Maidenhead and heads through the woods (famously used by notorious highwaymen until the early 1800's) and farmland towards Burchett's Green beautiful conservation area. We then head towards Ashley Hill through the agricultural college land and ascend the path surrounded by a wonderful woodland. At the top of this highest point in East Berkshire sits the Keepers Lodge and a trig point is located in the garden of the house. From here we follow one of the several paths to Pudding Hill for fantastic views of the surrounding countryside before heading to Warren Row village and a short stopover at the popular cafe. We then head through a country lane to Juddemonte Farms (horse racing empire) and link up with Knowl Hill bridleway to head back to Stubbings Lodge and the car park.
Distance approx 8-9 miles - moderate, total ascent 719 ft, some hilly sections to set the heart pumping!
