Walking on the Old Tram Road over the wide River Ribble into the lovely Avenham Park on the edge of Preston City Centre. 6-7miles, moderate pace, some gentle uphill paths in the park, riverside paths may be muddy. No formal stops, just 10 minutes at leisure in Avenham Park halfway.
MEET on Hennel Lane at 10.15am, the walk starts at 10.30am. TOILETS - It is most unlikely that there will be any cafe or toilets en route that will be open on Xmas Day. Last Xmas The Hunters Pub allowed a small number in for a drink/cuppa after 12noon as they were full with pre-booked diners. So if this is important to you then please do your own research.
DOGS - One dog per person ok if shown on your profile, and under control throughout the walk, On a lead as necessary.

Directions: From the A6 dual carriageway at Walton-le-Dale, turn onto Carrwood Road (signposted to Walton Park). First left into Millwood Road, left into Hennel Lane, The Hunters Pub is on the left, but do not turn into their car park, go past it and park considerately a little further down Hennel Lane. Meet on Hennel Lane in front of The Hunters.
