Walk is led by Brian, who knows this area well.
Worthington Lakes is made up of three small reservoirs that serve Wigan, managed by United Utilities who have a water treatment works there.
Setting off along the Lakes and through woodlands to emerge onto the canal towpath and then on quiet country lanes to Haigh Hall where we stop for 40minutes for lunch/cuppa and toilets. The Courtyard has a choice of inside/outside places to eat/drink. You can bring your own food/drink if you sit outside the Cafe areas. Moderate pace, some steps/slopes, some muddy paths, and some woodland paths that need extra care taken. Moderate pace with time for photo's etc, 7-8miles, back about 1.45pm.

MEET in the car park at 9.50am, the walk starts at 10am prompt.
TOILETS - There are no toilets at the start but there are free public toilets at Haigh Hall Courtyard lunch stop.
DOGS - Sorry, dogs are not allowed round Worthington Lakes.
RSVP CANCELLATION - If you can no longer attend, please change your RSVP with as much notice as possible.
WALK CANCELLATION - If there are fewer than 4 attendees, the walk may be cancelled.
GOING LIST closes to new RSVP's by 8pm the night before at the latest.

Car Park does not have its own postcode and is not clearly signposted off the A5106 Chorley Road from either direction. Entrance is between Lakeside Care Home and United Utilities driveway both of which have large signs. Lakeside Care Home postcode is WN1 2XN. Car Park What 3words location is: Buyers.Warmers.Tangling.
If you are coming from Chorley direction, it is easier to drive past the entrance and go down to the mini-roundabout to turn round, then drive slowly back up the hill and look out on your right. See small photo's for mini-roundabout, then high brick wall on right, then United Utilities entrance on right, then car park entrance on right.
