From Wheelton Village Tea Rooms, set off uphill towards Heapey where there is a great view. Then to Brinscall where there are more views looking down on the massive Brinscall Quarry (who still supply stone to Gaudi's Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.) Down to the interesting hamlet of Withnell fold, where we stop for 10-minutes. Back on the Canal. Medium pace, slower uphill, 7 miles, back around 1.15pm.
Mostly on good paths, some muddy stretches if it has been raining, some stiles, some ascent and descent but no big hills. No toilets at the start or en route. Customer toilets at the cafe or pub.
1 dog per person ok if shown on your profile and on a lead under control.

\* Optional visit to TeaRooms after, but it will need to be booked at least the day before the walk. You will need to change out of any wet gear before going in the Tea Room. There is outside seating at The Red Lion, which sells real ale and lunch.
