What we’re about
Join us for our Choro Roda in San Francisco meetup, where we celebrate the rich traditions of Brazilian music through acoustic jam sessions. A choro roda is a vibrant gathering where musicians come together to play choro, a traditional Brazilian music genre that blends elements of European classical music with African rhythms and Brazilian folk influences.
Led by choro experts Ami Molinelli (Pandeiro) and Ian Faquini (guitar), our choro roda welcomes all instruments and provides an authentic playing experience. The session involves a mix of improvisation and structured melodies, allowing musicians to showcase their virtuosity and creativity. We've prepared a collection of choro standards in here. Please bring them to the roda:

A choro roda is not just a performance; it’s a cultural experience that fosters connections between musicians and audiences, celebrating Brazil's rich musical heritage. We look forward to playing with you at the roda!
