What we’re about
Chef Taka's Japanese Cooking experience Class 〜Enjoy Cultural Exchange through Japanese Cuisine〜
Thank you for joining us event page.
Hello, I'm Chef Taka! Every month, I host a Japanese cooking class where people interested in Japanese culture, those wanting to practice their Japanese, and those eager to learn Japanese cuisine can come together and enjoy a fun and enriching experience.
About Me
Before coming to New Zealand, I ran a catering and personal chef service business in Japan. I decided to come to New Zealand because I wanted to challenge myself overseas. I love New Zealand because, like Japan, it offers easy access to fresh fish and Japanese ingredients. Additionally, New Zealand’s commitment to sustainability really resonates with me.
Interests and Hobbies
I enjoy cycling, camping, wine and cheese, beer, and hosting events. I'm also currently practicing my English.
Professional Experience
I have four years of experience working in both Western and Japanese cuisine. Additionally, I managed a café called Café POMMEDE PIN in Japan, and I have experience in providing personal chef services and catering. I have also been involved in product development, such as manufacturing and selling health teas and producing ice cream. I am currently exploring new opportunities to take on similar challenges in New Zealand.
Commitment to Sustainability
My journey towards sustainability began when I started managing my own restaurant. I didn’t want to serve my customers anything that I wasn’t sure was safe. I aimed to create menus that I would want to serve to my loved ones,. This led me to seek organic and eco-friendly ingredients and seasonings, ensuring they are safe and healthy.
Through cooking, I hope to spark your interest in the process of how food is made and where ingredients come from.
