Christians need to know and be taught from both the Old and New Testaments, but most Christians I know only study the New Testament and maybe Psalms and one or two other favorite books in the O.T. But we are studying what is in the book of Numbers (a challenge that someone brought up recently). Number talks about Moses and the Israel in the wilderness and them meeting God and dealing with conflict and warfare and finding out who this God of Abrahma really was.
We will start in Numbers 1-5 as an introduction to the book. In the coming weeks, we will cover several chapters to discuss the highlights of this book. We will be discussing: Why is there a number of people here? Why is there such a specific arrangement of the camps of Israel? What does the requirements of the Levites and priests mean for us today as New Testament priests? Do we have a separate priesthood, or does it apply to all of us?
All are welcome and we encourage both active participation and those who simply want to come and listen.
