What we’re about
An informal community of people who enjoy learning and doing the dances from different countries. We mostly dance line and circle dances from Eastern Europe and the Middle East - both Arab and Israeli. Some Armenian and Breton dances too. Very Few Couple Dances happen, so plan to come solo. Or if you bring a partner and want to do a couple dance, just ask the DJ. We aim to provide dances for everyone.
Worrying that you'll be out of place since you don't know the dances? We're all glad to teach and prompt you. And many are really simple . . . Even the old men and women in the village can dance them. And as you master the easy dances you'll begin to learn some of the more challenging ones. That's what all of us have done.
What to wear: comfortable clothes. Shoes with leather or other non-sticky sole are ideal, but some people dance in sneakers or running shoes.
We dance Saturdays at Twin Towers on Hamilton Avenue. We suggest you arrive 7.45-ish or later. Come in the main entrance and the receptionist will direct you. PLEASE CALL ONE OF OUR MEMBERS BEFORE YOU COME because sometimes another event gets us canceled out. 513 541 1257 or 513 614 1597.
