CONNECT THROUGH SOUND (FREE EVENT)

Music is a creative playground for researching the inner workings of being human. By exploring sound, we can learn how to participate in the crafting of a world that works for all beings. Working together, and exploring sounding out loud, from an inner place, we can understand viscerally more about what we have in common and how we each meet the challenges of being human.

TAKING RISKS IS HOW WE GROW - yet this is also FUN!

What will we do? Using sound exercises, we will explore body (and spatial) awareness. This will lead to the discovery of spontaneous composition. Clare will demonstrate all aspects of every exercise and you will be fully supported to take risks whilst feeling safe. Circle singing is a profoundly direct experience of being included and assisted in supportive ways. You do not need to ‘know’ anything to benefit from these processes.

BENEFITS OF COMING TO ONE, OR BOTH, OF THESE FREE WORKSHOPS:

  • Reduce self-consciousness,
  • Manage (dissolve) stress,
  • Deepen presence,
  • Alter the mind’s fear of performing,
  • Learn to enjoy leading others in performance as discovery,
  • Expand musical knowledge and awareness,
  • Broaden leadership skills.

WHAT ELSE CAN IT DO?

  • Help us feel our belonging within a planet that already knows us,
  • Deepen our cosmological awareness of sounding as participation in life’s living system,
  • Deepen our empathy,
  • Fuel our connection to larger knowing.

OUR PSYCHOLOGY
Sounding is a wonderful chance to dissolve the inner critic!

The exercises will

  • Heighten your awareness of self,
  • Explore and welcome arising feelings,
  • Step into the moment,
  • Elevate your confidence,
  • Deepen your authentic presence,
  • Grow your courage.

WHO CAN BENEFIT? You!

  • If you are faculty or staff, you’ll have a chance to experiment with - and get feedback on - ways to be an inclusive and encouraging leader (whatever you teach).
  • If you are a current or prospective student - it will strengthen your skills and answer some questions.
  • If you are a curious (or new) improviser, you will learn resilience - a robust life skill in any challenging times.
  • If you want to develop new communication skills, this will spark your possibilities.

REMEMBER…

Our planet is a large organism of relationships that we see, hear, and sense. It is all composed of vibration. When we generate sounds from deep inside ourselves we can experience the spectrum of human emotions and vulnerability.

Truly, the voice is the gateway to our freedom to express vs. inner oppression and we will notice the transition between these states. As importantly, it is a gateway to our connection with Nature, the Cosmos, and Infinite possibilities.
