YULE CELEBRATION CONTINUES
Annual Yule Bonfire Vigil
MYSTIC GROVE at the UU Church!!!
December 21, 2024~ 8:30 to sunrise 7:15a.m.

After our 7 PM Winter Solstice service... come join Mystic Grove for camaraderie around the Yule Log bonfire as we all keep watch over the longest night of the year and do our part to ensure the sun rises! In the courtyard, assembly room and courtyard!
ONLY steps away from Circle of the Sublime Elm. Attendees can go to the First Unitarian Church for Mystic Grove's 'Yule All Night Vigil'. The Yule fire and festivities will continue until dawn! Come and stay for awhile, or bring your chairs, blankets, sleeping bags, food, etc and stay all night.

As the Sublime Elms have done in the past with the Mystic Grove! This year the Sublime Elms are observing Yule / Winter Solstice on Saturday, December 21st.
Potluck! So, please bring something to share. Remember to dress weather appropriately as the large Yule fire may not warm your buns enough.

Yule Log Lighting (when the spirit calls, in the 8:30 – 9:00-ish time frame) is the official start of the overnight vigil.

Overnight activities include: continuous opportunity to sit around the fire pit singing, telling stories, reflecting, and taking turns snoozing. Food, drinks, and board games will be in the in the Assembly Room to refresh body and brain cells.

Midnight Labyrinth walk by candlelight will give us an opportunity for moving meditation.

8:45 PM Yule Log Lighting. “Official” start of the overnight vigil. Fire pit singing, telling stories, reflecting, snoozing, marshmallow toasting through the night.

10:00 PM Assembly Room. The “Board Game Room” opens with a round of Pictionary. Other games through the night as desired. Room 9 will also be available for movie viewing. Those with tents may now put them up on the far lawn.

12:00 AM. Midnight ritual to honor the labyrinth and Enrichment Center and celebrate the energy of transformation as we look forward to our campus renovation.

1 AM. Potluck. Heartier fare replaces the nibbles to refortify the fire keepers!

SUNRISE (7:04 am) We celebrate our success in calling back the sun with a brief ritual.

If you are staying overnight please bring: suitable layers of clothing for the weather, sleeping gear if you expect you might need to nap, food and drinks to share, songs, stories, poems, etc. to share around the fire, drums and music instruments.

All parts of this event are family-friendly; however, child care is not available, so parents/guardians will need to supervise their children at all times. We'll be roasting marshmallows, playing games, caroling, storytelling, eating, and socializing!
