City Walk Rice University Academic Quadrangle, 7.0 miles
Details
A quick look at the recently completed renovation of the Rice University Academic Quad, the center of the school and the oldest buildings on campus and a place central to and welcoming to all the members of the university. The plantings are just getting started but the idea is there and like everything else it will just take a little time to get used to the new arrangement. A nice brisk walk around Hermann Park and Rice to stretch everything out in anticipation of Thanksgiving. After the walk we will have a cool down at Bodega's. Come on out and enjoy the weather.
Wear light colored, loose fitting clothing, comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. The heat in Texas is always a concern so let someone know if you are having a hard time. For more information about hiking check out this very useful hiking website: https://www.hatsandmore.org/
Our organizers are not guides nor do we have any special training. We are here to come up with hiking ideas and get the hike started. Take the same precautions you would if hiking alone, including the fitness needed to make long hikes. Then enjoy the hike among friends.
