City Walk Farmer's Market and Heights, 7.0 miles
Details
With Thanksgiving on the way, here is a chance for all the pecans, tomatillos, and cactus leaves you ever wanted. Today's walk takes us through the Heights from Stude Park to the Houston Farmer's Market and back again. On the way we will pass Dan Electro's Guitar Bar and see more of the charms (and elevation) that made the Houston Heights a popular suburb of Houston from its earliest days.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. The heat in Texas is always a concern so let someone know if you are having a hard time. For more information about hiking check out this very useful hiking website: https://www.hatsandmore.org/
The weather is warming and it is recommended to wear loose, light-colored clothing.
Our organizers are not guides nor do we have any special training. We are here to come up with hiking ideas and get the hike started. Take the same precautions you would if hiking alone, including the fitness needed to make long hikes. Then enjoy the hike among friends.
