Wild Winter Lights at the Zoo- Yeah!
Details
Ever wonder what zoo animals do at night under the snuggly-wuggley blanket of stars? Do tree pandas play chess with meerkats, debating who has the best makeup techniques? Do giraffe mommies and daddies read bedtime stories to their calf beh-behs about how one day their necks will grow so long they will be able to nibble on the green cheese of the moon? Do koala really invite the 3-toed sloth to pass the eucalyptus-chie to the left-hand side while listening to Bob Marley? (If not, they MUST be doing something similar to this!) And do kookaburra gargle with salt water and sing scales to warm up for the next day’s solo performance?
Well, wonder no further!
Please join me for a walk at Wild Winter Lights at the Cleveland Metropark Zoo where we will not only observe these amazing creatures during their night-time activities, but we will be able to enjoy these beauties under a glittery backdrop of 1.5 million lights across holiday-themed areas including Enchanted Forest, Swan Lake, Candy Lane, and Polar Pathway! Imagine a curtain of sparkly-goodness behind all of the fuzzy-ness, scaley-ness, prickly-ness, noisy-ness, fluffy-ness, slimy-ness, and stinky-ness (ok maybe we will avoid the tamandua) you can handle!
Food and drink will be available for purchase.
Tickets can be purchased here. $24 / discounts for zoo members. Please remember to select Saturday, November 23rd.

We are going to be outside. BUT, and that’s a very BIG BUTT: being outside does NOT mean we will inside the outside animal habitats. I repeat: outside does NOT mean we will be inside the outside animal habitats. So NO, you do not get to take the eucalyptus – chie, even if the koala passes it to you on his left-hand side, no matter how much he insists. Even if the 3-toed sloth tries to pass it to on his left-hand side —bundled with a pack of gourmet brownies from Heinens. You do NOT get to take it from him. Ever! I don’t want to be responsible for putting you behind bars. I mean, how do you think all the other animals got to the zoo? The poor zebras are still on probation, even after they got out!! And do you think the platypus is the way he is just because? No -sometimes strange things happen with zero explanation. Remember Hoffa? Things don’t just happen to human people! Eventhough you can’t mess around with the koala or his 3-toed friend, please feel free to sing with the kookaburra to your heart’s content!
So wear comfortable shoes and might I suggest for you to bring a water bottle /thermos so you can sip from it while we are walking around. Dress in layers, bundle up, and let’s have some fun!
