Winter Solstice Celebration 21st (not 20th)- Yeah!
Details
For those of you who have signed up for the 20th - my apologies for changing the date to the 21st. I attempted messaging all of you via Meet Up or Text however, Meet Up, depending on your settings, will not allow me to get through so I put this “date news “ in the comment section. The venue on the 20th appears to be inactive so I found another event, but it is on the 21st. I hope your schedule allows this.
 OK drumroll please…. I said drumroll, please….
Do you ever wonder what happens on one of the 2 loooonnggggeeesst nights of the year?
Does Rapunzel grow her hair out even more so that she can finally -and once and for all -get to finally see her cutie-patootie sweetie pie down there at the base of the castle - yessss the one with those adorablezzzzz poofy sideburns —-by getting him to actually CLIMB UP her HAIR instead of repeatedly asking her to let it down? I hope his shoes are not muddy because you know how us girls don’t like to have to constantly wash our hair! And when he gets to the top, he better have presents like chocolate or diamonds- And no, that does not mean chocolate diamonds!
Does the spaghetti in Disney’s Lady and the Tramp ever end? Like is it one continuous piece of doughy goodness on the plate? Just admit that you would love to go into MaMa Mia’s Bistrot and just see if that noodle in your spaghetti dish is continuous. If you do this, make sure you go with friends who don’t mind if you make a mess while you’re trying to see if that noodle is actually just one continuous, long, long, L O N G noodle! Don’t forget to wear your bib!
Do daddy-long-legs no longer have to climb up your picnic table—scaring the baaaageeezuz out of the whole family—- just to get a piece of Auntie Matilda‘s cake? Instead they just rise up - like a bucket on the retracting arm of one of those tree trucks —and lean over to reach out one or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 of their little legs to grab a piece? Notice I did not say 8. If I said 8, he would’ve climbed up on the table, but this little guy doesn’t need to climb. He just gets up. Why? Because this daddy-long-legs’ legs have gotten longer. Longer daddy-long-legs’ legs. Longer daddy-long-legs’ legs. Longer daddy-long-legs’ legs. Can you say that 10 times real fast? Imagine emptying out your pockets before putting your pants in the wash and finding one of those critters. Can you say, “ the baaaageeezuz have been screamed out of me!” as your post-pocketed daddy-long-legs marches his long daddy-long-legs’ legs out of your way!
Please come join me in celebrating one of the longest nights of the year by exploring the roots of our modern holiday celebrations indoors and out! Enjoy treats, hot beverages and music; create a solstice-themed craft; stroll the self-guided Solstice Traditions Trail, a magical, candlelit route through the forest; and watch interactive skits highlighting solstice traditions of various civilizations with costumed interpreters.
Please dress for the weather, as much of the program is outside.
No dogs, please. And don’t feel sorry for them. They may miss you but not as much as they miss having full run of the house and having a party with all of your other pets, plants, toilet paper, kibble, toys, your sock drawer, and ALL of your shoelaces!
The program is an open-house format ending at 10 PM. Shuttles from ASM ( big goant metal building that kind of looks like a spaceship - but it is not a spaceship - I repeat it is not a spaceship . We will not see Martians or be beamed up on the solstice. At least that’s what they tell me. 🤣 the event goes from 6:30-10:30 PM. Let’s meet between 6:00 and 630 for a 630 departure. I will be updating the Meet Up comment section from time to time telling you where we are.
Cost: Free!
So come on bundle up, stretch those tootsies— even the loooonggest one—put on your comfortable walking shoes, and let’s have some fun !
