This is a beginner friendly bouldering trip to Mount Alexander. We will head up on early on the Saturday morning, meet at Harcourt General Store at 9am and then head to the boulders.
Never bouldered outside before? No worries! We will go through some basics and then get on some easy boulders (grades V0-V4). Some indoor climbing experience is helpful but not compulsory. The aim of the day will be to get lots of fun, easy climbing done without focusing too much on the grades!
More experienced climbers are of course welcome, but be aware we'll likely be trying lots of problems rather than spending significant time projecting 1 or 2 climbs. We'll be either aiming to go to Kingdom Boulders (nice and shaded if it's hot) or Land of the Overhangs area.
Please bring:
- Climbing shoes
- A day's worth of food and plenty of water (no accessible water on site)
- Appropriate clothes (check the forecast please!)
- Sturdy shoes for walking to and from the boulders
- Sun protection.
If you don't have your own climbing shoes that's not a problem - you can hire them from the ROC gear room, open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. For inquiries email [email protected] .
We will climb for most of the day and then head to a nearby pub (Victoria Hotel - Woodend) for dinner (optional).
Costs:
Crash pad hire will be divided among participan... (see website for more details - http://roc.org.au/trips/trip-info/?trip_id=5519)
See you all there!
