What we’re about
Cloud Native and Kubernetes Oslo is the official Cloud Native Computing Foundation Meetup group about the techonologies hosted under CNCF umbrella (https://www.cncf.io/):
- Kubernetes
- Prometheus
- Opentracing
- Fluentd
- CoreDns
- LInkerd
- Containerd
- Rkt
- Grpc
We host talks from anyone doing cool things with Kubernetes, and the other CNCF technoligies, including companies using them in production or vendors who are pushing the boundaries of what the cloud native techs can do.
Presenations will be focused on demos, and not sales pitches. The meetup will be organized in an open and democratic way, where anyone that wants to help out organizing will be welcome.
We believe in open sponsorships, so anyone can cover the cost of food, space, and travel for speakers. Organizations donating speakers, food/drinks, or space will automatically count as sponsors for the event.
To become an organizer, sponsor, or speaker, please reach out to us!

17:00 - 17:30 Mingling and food (let us know if you have allergies!)
17:30 - 17:40 Meetup start and introduction17:40 - 18:25 - "Building a team-centric self-service solution in Kubernetes" by Aksel Skaar Leirvaag, Platform engineer on the Nova platform in Telenor Norway. Are your users intimidated by Terraform? Do you spend too much time assisting them in creating cloud infrastructure? In this talk, Aksel will show you how to build custom resources in Kubernetes by creating an abstraction layer over the tofu-controller, enabling the reuse of existing Terraform modules. Empower your teams to have ownership of their cloud resources, prevent disasters with guardrails, and save time by reducing the need to review pull requests. Join us to discover a more efficient way to manage cloud infrastructure.
18:25 - 18:30 - Break
18:30 - 19:15 - "How to manage anything with Kubernetes" by Alfred Tovsen Mo, Platform Engineer at Intility. Managing cloud infrastructure is becoming more complex with the increasing number of services and components. In this session, we'll learn how to streamline this using Kubernetes to manage your infrastructure. We'll first look at the challenges of modern infrastructure management and the need for a declarative framework. Then, we'll introduce Crossplane, a tool that extends Kubernetes' capabilities to manage infrastructure alongside applications.
19:15 - 19:30 - Informal look back at 2024 and some of the trends that have happened in the cloud native space by Emil Antoni Brasø, co-organizer at Cloud Native and Kubernetes Oslo meetup group.
19:30 - Meetup end.
Looking forward seeing you all there!😸
