We’re kicking off the Karlsruhe Cloud Native community with 2 amazing talks, cold drinks, and pizza 🍕
TALK #1: Zero to OpenTelemetry
Michele will tell you what you need to start your observability journey with OpenTelemetry. (Cramming 2 semesters worth of knowledge into 30minutes.)
Michele is the Founding Engineer and Head of Product at dash0, an Open Telemetry client. He has been living breathing observability for the past decade. It all started when his product owner asked "Why does this user claim to be logged into someone else's account?"
TALK #2: Scaling Applications: Efficient Pod Resource Allocation
In this session we’ll explore best practices for scaling Kubernetes pods, including setting resource requests/limits, leveraging Horizontal and Vertical Pod Autoscalers, and resizing resources in-place. Learn practical strategies to optimize resource allocation and improve application scalability in dynamic applications.
Manuel is a software professional with over 10 years of experience working with both proprietary and open-source technologies. With a background in site reliability engineering (SRE), he has extensive experience operating managed Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift) environments. Manuel is also a co-author of Operating OpenShift (O'Reilly), advocating for the SRE approach to Kubernetes operations in production. Recently, Manuel joined Codesphere as a software architect, where he is part of a team focused on simplifying the developer experience in cloud-native environments.
