Central Jersey Dungeons & Dragons

We will play Dungeons & Dragons, a fantasy storytelling game. Everyone is welcome, even those who have never played D&D before. You only need a computer. Everything else will be provided. This is a beginner friendly event.

• You need to use a computer rather than a phone or a tablet. Windows is preferred.
  To sign up for the event: click Attend Online. You will be prompted for the name that you will use during the event. This is the name that both you and your character will be called throughout the event. Write it down or save it in a file. You can't join the meeting under any other name or variation on it. It is case sensitive. If you entered "John", you must join the meeting as "John" and not "john" with a lower case j or "John H. Smith III".
• You must join the meeting within the first 10 minutes. Otherwise you won't be able to join.
• Swearing is not permitted during the event, even in character.
• Each session will vary in length. They will be at least 30 minutes, but no more than 3 hours, but you can leave early if you need to.

To join the meeting:

• Click the blue button labelled Join a Meeting.
• The Meeting ID is 798 8765 7669. Your name must be exactly what you entered when you registered for this event. It is case sensitive and must be entered exactly as you entered when you signed up. If you entered "John", you can't join as "john" or "John H. Smith III".
• The passcode is: meeting

Troubleshooting:

• Make sure you entered a name when you signed up for the event.
• If it says "waiting for the host to join" within the first 10 minutes, just wait until the host joins. If it says "Waiting for the host to join" and it is after the first 10 minutes of the event, then just disconnect. You can't join after the first 10 minutes.
• If it says that you are in the waiting room for several minutes, you probably didn't enter your name on Zoom the same way you entered it when you signed up for the meeting. Disconnect and re-enter you name the same way you entered it when you signed up for the meeting.
• If you really can't remember how you entered your name, you can try sending a private message to the Event Organizer asking what name you used. If you don't receive a response within the first 10 minutes of the meeting, disconnect. You'll have to join a future event instead.
