Details

To complement our fortnightly in-person hack nights, we're starting a series of online talks and workshops. Log in and join us for an informal presentation, discussion and a friendly chat.

This session will be an Introduction to Array Programming with [Uiua](https://www.uiua.org/ "Uiua

(https://www.uiua.org/)"), hosted by Jonathan Elliott and Katie Gardner. Array programming is a less well-known programming paradigm that, despite its origins in the 1960s, is increasingly relevant today. It provides an interesting perspective on programming that allows for a lot of creative problem solving, sometimes forcing you to think in unfamiliar ways. But most importantly, it’s a lot of fun!

The session will kick off with an introduction to array programming, explaining the key concepts using [Uiua](https://www.uiua.org/ "Uiua

(https://www.uiua.org/)") a stack-based, array-oriented programming language, which we will also introduce.

We'll include examples of programming in Uiua to illustrate the key ideas, and follow on with small problems to have a go at in groups in an interactive code-along workshop, where we’ll be around to answer questions and help out.

No experience of Uiua or array programming is required (or expected) – everyone welcome!
