What we’re about

Notice:
This group has been free to its members for 3 years. Each year, organizers pay to host events on the Meetup platform. In 2024, fees doubled and it now costs organizers $350 per year to host events. As a result, a very reasonable annual membership of $15/year has been instated. An announcement went to all members about this change at the end of September. This covers the $3 processing fees from Meetup & Stripe, and $1/month. This is intended to offset some of the costs of running and organizing Meetups that benefit our community. Unfortunately, some people have found this to be an outrageous request to support the time, effort, forethought, and energy required to build this community.

This group will run through the end of my current billing cycle, which ends in January 2025. At that time, I will determine if continuing to run this group is worth it for me. It's unfortunate over 300 members - many of whom attended at least one event in a year, and multiple events over 3 years - have left over this decision. I hope you can understand my reasoning, especially given my recent unemployment. Sometimes things have to crumble to be rebuilt. Will you be part of the new era or will Coffee & Create be gone for good? The choice is in your hands.

About:
I am bringing together artists and creators over a cup of coffee (or tea, kombucha, or your preferred beverage). This group is for connecting and using our collective energy to create artistic flow. We may have a discussion topic or allow the conversation to flow organically. We support and inspire each other. We have genuine connections and hold space for whatever the creative journey means to you. We raise our vibration and show up better in our communities through the artistic process. I am grateful for you being here and taking interest in this experience.

We meet at Mango Tree Coffee in Englewood, and Enchanted Grounds in Littleton, with other venues possible in the future as we grow.

While a diversity of crafts is encouraged, be mindful of avoiding art/craft supplies that would damage the venue's tables or furniture. Beading, colored pencils, ink, charcoal, digital tablets, knitting, cross stitching, scrapbooking, and anything that is mostly dry and easy to clean up would be acceptable. Silicone craft mats are a great idea for anyone using glue or something kind of messy! If you are not sure, send me a message and ask!

Rules:

  1. I have a strict no-show policy. Due to high demand, and limited space and frequency, after two no-shows, individuals will be removed and blocked from the group. Please take responsibility for your RSVP and update it accordingly. I understand life happens, however, please be respectful of the intent and space of this group by communicating proactively and/or updating your RSVP on the platform.
  2. Inappropriate behavior, which includes but is not limited to: excessive negativity, drama, using the group for dating, using the group to solicit business or find new clients, etc. will result in a warning. Further offenses will result in removal from the group.

If you found this group and it resonates, I encourage you to explore this experience with us! Thank you for being here!
