ASC East Anglia Area Conference and Contests

This will be the highlight of our speaking year! Colchester will be hosting the East Area Contests in our wonderful new venue at the University of Essex Innovation Centre. Each club will select members to compete in 3 different contests:
- The Speech Contest
- The Evaluation Contest
- The Topics (Impromptu Speaking) Contest
It should be a very entertaining evening with some excellent speakers. The winner of each contest will go through to the S E Regional Contests to be held at the Civil Service Club in London in March.

Don't forget you can earn your Foundation Certificate in Public Speaking by the end of your first season and your full ASC Certificate in Public Speaking by the end of your second season. You'll then become an Accomplished Speaker of the ASC (Association of Speakers Clubs) which is a CPD accredited certificate and can be shown to an employer to verify your speaking skills. Please come along and try us out - I guarantee you'll learn a lot about public speaking :-) Coming along as a guest is free and if you decide to join us it will cost £35 per year for 11 meetings with full membership of the ASC the bargain :-)

Colchester Speakers Club is a fantastic place for beginners to overcome their fears and take their first steps on the road to speaking confidently in public. It's also suitable for more experienced speakers to improve their skills. We also welcome people who have a specific goal in mind, for example: acceptance speeches, wedding speeches and work based presentations. Over the years we've developed some very effective and proficient public speakers. Guests are very welcome to come along to see how we operate.
