POSTPONED from Mon Sept 16th
Imagine a zine as a handmade, DIY magazine created by you! Zines can be centered on any topic and it's a space to express your creativity, share your passions, and connect with others who love the same things. During this Meetup I will go over the steps on how to fold and lay out a zine template from a piece of paper. Next you can choose a zine theme for yourself or you can pull a simple theme from a list I will provide to get started with. Let your creativity flow!

What's a zine?
Originally known as "fanzines," as early as the 1930's they were created by science fiction fans to discuss their shared interests. These early zines were typically typed and mimeographed, a simple and affordable production method at the time.
As the decades passed, zines became more diverse in both content and format. They evolved to encompass various topics, from art and literature to politics and social issues. The punk and DIY movements of the 1970s and 1980s further popularized zines, providing a platform for marginalized voices and countercultural ideas.
Today, zines continue to be a vibrant and diverse medium. They offer a platform for self-expression, community building, and social commentary, reflecting the ever-evolving landscape of creativity and communication.
