The Tea House Theatre is a homely Victorian pub in Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, and is five minutes walk from Vauxhall tube and railway station. There's tables, chairs and quality food for about fifty guests. It's a ticketed event at £10, there's always a lively crowd who join in singing in the choruses, or thumping on the tables- and we solicit this by handing out chorus song sheets to all guests. We also take a few requests, and on occasion invite members of the audience to sing with us on stage

We have been performing there on the third Friday of the month for one and a half years. We and the management at the Tea House try to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere in a cosy homely Victorian home from home - Shanty Singing in new room at the William Morris PubThe William Morris Pub, London
Just this performance will be held on the 2nd Thursday of the month, as our musical leader has been offered a largish fee to sing in an opera, and he needs the cash. This event will consist of three lively forty minute sets, mainly of well known Shanty Songs, with typed chorus sheets handed out to all guests, and we have got better and better over the past two and a half years, to my own pleasant surprise.
We will be moving for this event to a new room in the pub, where only Shanty fans will be invited, so there will be no annoyingly loud conversations from those who see live singing as background music
To complete your happiness, house beer and house drinks are half price from 6pm until 8pm.
It's an Edwardian bar in picturesque Merton Abbey Mills, which is ten minutes walk from Colliers Wood tube station.
Or you can catch a 57, 131 or 219 bus from Wimbledon station or Tooting Broadway station to Merton Abbey Mills bus stop, and they run every two or three minutes. We get a lively crowd, nearly all of whom join in singing the choruses.
Good quality hot food is available which is cooked on the premises.
Towards the end of the evening we take a few requests from audience members, who are invited on stage to sing the song with us, but only if they want to.
We usually perform here on the first Thursday of the month, and have been singing here for two and a half years, and it don't seem a day too long

We have moved to a different part of the downstairs of the pub for this event to where only Shanty fans will be invited, so there will be no annoyingly loud conversations from the philistines who see live singing as background music to their loud conversations, thereby making it difficult for those who want to listen to the verses, and join in to sing the choruses
