There have been 22 species of whales spotted in Dominican waters, so we’ll go on a whale watching excursion – Dominica is known as the Caribbean’s whale watching ‘capital’. Or, if you have the energy, hike to the Boiling Lake in the center of Morne Trois Pitons National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit 2 spectacular waterfalls at Trafalgar Falls, The Emerald Pool – a beauty spot in the rainforest, enjoy a guided tour around Papillote Gardens – they’re gorgeous, and take a ride on the rainforest aerial tram – it’s a 90-minute exploration (in a gondola) of the Dominica rainforest canopy. And popular TiTou Gorge, was used for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.

DOMINICA IS THE WHALE WATCHING CAPITAL OF THE CARIBBEAN!
The most commonly sighted cetaceans include short-fin pilot whales, false killer whales, melon head whales, pygmy sperm whales, and humpback whales.

But our most impressive ocean giant is the Sperm Whale. Dominica is the only country in the world the Sperm Whales can be sighted year-round, although sightings are most common between November and March.
