Join us as we get together to see the comedy-drama, A REAL PAIN! The film stars Kieren Culkin and Jesse Eisenberg (who also wrote/directs) and follows a pair of mismatched cousins as they travel to Poland to honor their grandmother. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:

DESCRIPTION: The film follows mismatched cousins who reunite for a tour through Poland to honor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when the odd couple's old tensions resurface against the backdrop of their family history. A Real Pain is written/directed by Jesse Eisenberg, who also stars alongside Kieran Culkin, Will Sharpe, Jennifer Grey, Kurt Egyiawan, Liza Sadovy, and Daniel Oreskes. Emma Stone produced the film under her Fruit Tree banner.

BUZZ: The film premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival where it won Best Screenplay and also screened at the Zurich Film Festival! Early Oscar predictions call Kieran Culkin the man to beat for Best Supporting Actor at next year’s Oscars! The film is currently earning a 91% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which says: "Led by a scene-stealing turn from Kieran Culkin, A Real Pain is a powerfully funny, emotionally resonant dramedy that finds writer-director-star Jesse Eisenberg playing to his strengths on either side of the camera."

PLAN: Purchase your ticket for the 4:30pm showing and we’ll meet inside the theater lobby between 4:00 and 4:15pm. Advance ticket purchase not required for this theater but we’ll have a big group so early arrival is recommended. UPDATE: Details for this event have been changed and our revised plan is officially confirmed! Despite a stellar cast, great reviews, some solid Oscar buzz, the Drexel isn’t picking up this follow-up to the Best Picture-winning original! (They’re inexplicably going with MOANA 2 instead.) So, we’ll pivot the location, but keep the plan the same and maybe even kick things up a notch! New plan: A Bite Before the Show at the GAHANNA CAP CITY at 2:00pm! For the movie, we’ll see the 4:05pm showing of GLADIATOR 2 at Cinemark Stoneridge and will meet inside the theater lobby around 3:45pm! Ridley Scott returns to direct and the film stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, and Denzel Washington.

EARLY BUZZ/REVIEWS: Buzz has been strong with critics at early screenings calling the film a “true epic” and “one of the best films of the year!" It’s even earning a bit of Oscar buzz! Paul Mesal “shines” and Denzel Washington delivers a “scene-stealing performance” in Ridley Scott’s “best film since The Martian!”
