What we’re about
Allow me to introduce myself and also give you an update on this group as well as two related groups. I have met a few of you over the years in the Columbus Studio Photography meetups - that is how I started getting into studio photography 7 years ago.
I recently retired from my day job, and decided to open my own studio, in large part because I miss the (now closed) R&L Digital studio these groups had used for so long. You can see more information at http://studio8cbus.com/.
Jon and I talked about options for the groups, and he asked me to assume the organizer role, which I have done. This applies to all 3 groups:
- Columbus Studio Photography (https://4142298.xyz/Columbus-Studio-Photography/)
- Columbus Premium Photography (https://4142298.xyz/Columbus-Premium-Photography/)
- Learn Photography (https://4142298.xyz/Beginning-and-Intermediate-Photography/)
I plan to restart regular meetups, but slowly at first, e.g. once every 4-6 weeks, until I have a better sense of the demand for these events. I also need to still figure out how to make the 3 groups distinct. For now, most events will be posted in Columbus Studio Photography. I encourage you to join all three groups now, but I plan to announce meetups in all three groups so you can decide later.
Hope to see you at future meetups!

This event is also listed in the Columbus Studio Photography group.
Our model for this workshop is Megan Lee. Megan is a professional Native American/ Italian traveling model with 4+yrs of experience and a passion for anything Artistic Nude. Her profile includes everything from Fashion to Fetish; she specializes in Glam, Boudoir & Artistic Nude.
Check out her work on Instagram (@dontbemeganxxo).
For this workshop we will focus on artistic nude looks, but we will have plenty of wardrobe and prop options as well. We will pick two lighting setups and shoot at least three different looks.
Workshop space is limited to five photographers who take turns shooting. You must have a camera that can operate in fully manual mode and accept a generic flash interface on the hot shoe.
Studio 8 has the studio strobes and modifiers needed to create appropriate lighting setups.
You can use the link above to request a spot, or register here.
Megan Lee is available for side-shoots after the workshop. Request a slot using the registration form at the link above - the studio fee is waived for participants.
