Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results. But like science, life is unpredictable. Which is why a few years later Elizabeth Zott finds herself not only a single mother, but the reluctant star of America’s most beloved cooking show Supper at Six. Elizabeth’s unusual approach to cooking (“combine one tablespoon acetic acid with a pinch of sodium chloride”) proves revolutionary. But as her following grows, not everyone is happy. Because as it turns out, Elizabeth Zott isn’t just teaching women to cook. She’s daring them to change the status quo.

| Mark your calendars for December 13th and join us again this year for one of Bend's most anticipated holiday events—the [Tumalo Creek Holiday Lights Paddle Parade]
🎄 Here’s how it works: Paddlers dress up in costume and decorate their kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards with colorful, battery-operated lights and holiday gear. From there, shortly before sunset, the parade kicks off from the Tumalo Creek shop on the Deschutes River before heading through the Old Mill District in Bend.
🚣🏾♂️ Avid paddlers are encouraged to join, and spectators can watch from paved paths along the Deschutes River and from the Old Mill District Flag Bridge, which crosses the winding waterway.
See you out there!
💚❤️,
Tumalo Creek |

|Paddlers: Meet at Tumalo Creek from 3:30 to 4 p.m. to decorate. Please bring whatever decorations you want. We recommend small battery operated lights, inflatable characters, and COSTUMES! Please be sure to secure all of your decorations to prevent losing anything in the river. Tinsel, and other small decorations can be very hard to secure and easily fall off. So come with a plan!
We’ll begin launching at around 4pm (dusk) from the dock behind the shop and paddle upstream toward the Old Mill District Flag Bridge.
Dress warmly to ensure you can paddle until dark as the lights get even cooler after the sun sets.Spectators: Boats will be making their way through the Old Mill District between 4:15 and 5:30pm. Please bring your phones and snap away. Be sure to tag @tumalocreek on Instagram. We will be using these posts to share on our storyboard so spectators who could not join don't miss out on the fun.
