What we’re about
What does it mean to be a fully conscious and integrated human being in 2024? This group is devoted to creating a community of practitioners who can explore this question in meaningful and profound ways.
Events are designed to help cultivate inner and outer wisdom, strength and fulfillment. We are heavily influenced by Integral Theory, the most comprehensive mapping of the kosmos that we are aware of.
On the inner plane we introduce and support practices that cultivate profound levels of calm, peace, love and equanimity. Many of the practices are drawn from Buddhadharma and the Western Mysteries traditions, but we are not dogmatic or attached to labels. Whatever works is what we use.
On the outer plane, we explore the cutting edge of research-based understandings about how to act skillfully and compassionately in the world. From interpersonal models and practices to personal mastery frameworks to systems thinking approaches, we are committed to supporting all aspects of what it takes to be a well-rounded human being.
Finally, the word ‘Collective’ is a nod to the power and necessity of doing the work with others. Whether you use the term ’sangha’, or ‘conscious community’, or simply ’supportive relationships’, the complexity of life in the 21st century necessitates more than ever an embracing of our interconnectedness.
Oh, and fun! Undertaking this work is life-changing, enriching and liberating, so it is going to involve challenge and discomfort at times. It’s important to inject as much joy and fun into the process as possible. Our events are also designed to be a spark of inspiration and newness into what can become rote, demanding lives in the city.
We hope to see you at one of our events to explore how we can support your growth and unfoldment.

Navigating Disruption: Social Change
Change is inevitable. When the Buddha distilled the characteristics that mark all of existence down to only three, the first he named was impermanence (anicca in Pali). And as Otto Scharmer, founder of TheoryU, puts it, "the only thing we can say with certainty about the future is that it will be informed by disruption".
Knowing this, how can we cultivate the attitudes and states of mind that will allow us to not only survive in a sea of change, but ride the waves with peace, joy and exhilaration?
The theme for this gathering is how to feel empowered with a sense of hope, agency and grounding around the reactivity and conflict that the current rapid pace of social change is triggering. We will be looking at how to better understand what is behind echo chambers, 'culture wars' and other highly-polarized social dynamics so we can avoid getting caught and help others to do the same.
General Description of Monthly Gatherings:
These sessions will take place in two parts: the first on inner development, including a 20-30 minute meditation or mindfulness practice to deepen our connection with calm, peace, joy, and non-clinging awareness. After a short break to enjoy a chance to connect (and sample some of Congress Coffee's amazing goodies for those who are peckish), the second half will focus on how to skilfully bring this clear state into the world. We will cover a variety of topics and modalities, but we will always aim to have the material be as practical as possible and to always include some interactive activities. This includes activities to make the ideas more accessible and meaningful to our daily lives.
Along with drawing from wisdom traditions such as Buddhadharma and the Western Mysteries, we are heavily informed by Integral Theory, the most comprehensive map of consciousness and human experience that is currently available.
