What we’re about
We've organized this group to help promote Country Line Dancing, especially for Beginners, but for all levels too. The idea is to make new friends and dance partners, enjoy and have fun with Country Line Dancing. Come join us- you'll have a lot of fun, we promise!
The events posted here are not special meet-up's for just our group. Instead, we post all the known beginner's lessons that are open to the public, so anyone can attend. For over a year now we have had typically 25-40 or more country music lovers at every event (regardless of whether anyone RSVP'd here thru MeetUp).
Want to learn how to Country Line Dance, or to brush-up on your skills and just have Fun?! This group strives to be the source of information on where to go for consistent, regularly scheduled weekly Country Line Dancing beginner's lessons!
And, hey! If you know of any other beginner's lessons somewhere, please let us know!
Also, please remember to come hungry and order something to eat, as well as a soda or something to drink - and, please, TIP the bartenders and servers generously so they keep allowing us to dance there. It is so important to please SUPPORT the businesses who are letting us use their dance floor space!

CHATEAU BU-DE WINERY: (Also called the Bohemian Manor Farm) Every 2nd Thursday. Don't miss the fun, Cover is only $7 and the time is 6:45-9:00 however if you paid $10 for the Couples Dance Lesson then you get $2 off, as its only $15 for the full night of two types of lessons.

Join us for an amazing boot scootin' County Line Dancing experience at the beautiful Chateau Bu-De Winery in Chesapeake City, MD. Yes, there is a $7:00 cover, and No food or drinks (including water) are allowed to be carried in, but they serve great food and drinks, which can purchased upstairs and carried downstairs into the dance hall.
This is a beautiful, well known wedding reception and event destination - a really nice place to enjoy a Thursday night after work! We are so fortunate to be dancing here again at the beautiful Chateau Bu-De Winery in Chesapeake City, MD!
We are dancing the lower level, so please enter the bar area + follow the steps behind the bar.
For an additional $10.00 cover, there is also Couples Dance Instruction, starting one hour earlier at 5:45.
In addition to the 6:45 dance (with its $7.00 cover) we have started a $10.00 couples' lesson, every Thursday, an hour earlier at 5:45 for 50-minutes. These couple lessons are by request + only for those who want them. This week we will continue with advanced El Paso lessons. You can come alone to take the couples' lessons - its very easy to learn your 1/2 the dance, to be ready for the larger group when more people might want to couples-dance with you. For the couples' lessons I will teach advanced styling steps for the El Paso. I will start with the basics for those who need to start from the beginning. However, I will also teach some very neat styling steps that help you to be a polished dancer. You do not need a partner as I + a few other guys will alternate dancing with the ladies. In fact, the El Paso is a dance you can easily do without a partner. We will probably spend 2-3 wks on this wonderful dance. Then each week I'll teach other must-know dances like the Blue Rose, The Side Kick, The Shadow + the Sweetheart Shottish.
Following the 5:45 pm Couples Dance Instruction, at 6:45 (for an additional $7.00 cover), we will start our regular line dance night.
We are in the lower level. Please enter the usual doors to the bar area, then go down the steps behind the bar to our dance area. Although you still order food at the bar, they may not deliver it downstairs. However, you can take the food to the dance hall.
The Chateau Bu-De is on Route-213. Coming from the McDonalds and Burger King in Elkton its about 15 minutes south of there (on the right). Its only 20 minutes from the Royal Farms on Mechanics Rd in Northeast, MD.
Going down 213 it's on the Right, 4.9 miles south of the end of the big Chesapeake City Bridge, just as the road makes a sharp left. Please look for the big signs on your Right immediately as you turn.

Every Thursday (except for the 2nd Thursday) starting 10/24, our dance will be back at the Elkton VFW! What a great place to dance, and we are so happy they are having us back. ADDRESS: 208 West High Street, Elkton, MD 21921
Starting this Thursday our DJ Jim Dawson really needs to charge at least $7.00 at each location, at every Dance, especially at the VFW where they are charging him a negotiated rental fee to have our dances there. Feel free to chip-in $10 if you can afford it instead of $7, because this is how DJ Jim Dawson makes his living, and its up to us to properly support and thank him for helping us learn how to dance and have a good time!
Jim will continue with the couples' dances at both locations, on Thursdays, but as usual you do not need a partner. This week we will have our final lessons on advanced steps for the El Paso. As well, DJ Jim Dawson will teach the Blue Rose. The fee for the couples' lessons will be $10 a person, but if you attend both couples AND THEN The regular beginner's Country Line Dancing the combined fee would be only $15 donation (instead of $17)
At the VFW the couples lesson will start at 6:00 AND THEN The regular Country Line Dancing will start at 7:00 pm until 9:30. Please pass the word around!
Regarding the 2nd Thursday of each month:
Of course, the 2nd Thursday of each month the VFW needs their Dance Hall for their monthly business meeting so we cannot dance in Elkton on the 2nd Thursdays; instead each 2nd Thursday of every month we'll dance at CHATEAU BU-DE WINERY (Also called the Bohemian Manor Farm).
