CML Online Academy - Blockchain for Good:Leveraging Technology for Global Change
Details
CML Academy was born out of a simple need: to make complex Web3 topics easier to understand.
After feedback that some event subject matter was too technical for newcomers, we launched CML Academy to offer online, beginner-friendly sessions that help everyone feel more confident and engaged going into our in person events.
Since its inception we’ve expanded our mission. CML Academy now aims to not only provide beginner friendly sessions to equip attendees for our events but also to drive mass adoption by equipping people with the essential knowledge and skills to thrive in the world of Web3.
CML Academy is all about making this exciting space accessible to anyone, whatever their level of experience or physical location.

This Month’s Topic: Blockchain for good
Introduction
Blockchain technology is reshaping industries across the board, from trade finance and debt reduction to environmental impact management and charitable initiatives. By utilizing digitized assets, carbon credits, and transparent governance models, it offers innovative solutions for financial, environmental, and philanthropic challenges alike. This month’s Academy session will be led by Circularity Finance.
Circularity Finance is a company using blockchain to make a positive impact on the world. They mix three powerful ideas:
- Decentralized Finance (DeFi): This is like banking without the bank. Instead of relying on a traditional bank, people can use apps to borrow, lend, or invest money directly, giving them more control.
- Regenerative Finance (ReFi): Regenerative Finance (ReFi) is about using money to help the planet and people. Instead of just focusing on making profits, ReFi invests in projects that fix environmental problems (like planting trees or cleaning up oceans) and support local communities (like funding schools or small businesses).
- Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT): This is a secure, digital way to keep records. Blockchain is a type of DLT that tracks transactions in a transparent and trustworthy way.
Key Takeaways from this Session
- Blockchain for Social Good: Explore how blockchain is transforming philanthropy by driving transparency, efficiency, and direct impact in charitable causes.
- Regenerative Finance (ReFi) & Sustainability: Discover how ReFi is redefining finance to restore ecosystems, regenerate social capital, and support long-term sustainability.
Join us at CryptoMondays for an insightful session and see how Circularity Finance is turning blockchain technology into a powerful tool for social and environmental good.
