Featuring a star-studded cast composed entirely of women—including Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell, Joan Fontaine, and Paulette Goddard—this Production Code–skirting classic traces the scandal that erupts when a wealthy Manhattan housewife (Shearer) discovers her husband is having an affair with a shopgirl (Crawford).
