Culture Club Munich

Are you looking to expand your horizons and meet others who want the same?

Then you have come to the right place. We meet weekly in a private venue near Prinzregentenplatz. Once a month we have a book club meeting and the weeks in between vary from discussions on politics, travel, music, psychology and much much more. The group is always growing and accumulating ideas for future meetings and discussions. Are you looking for stimulating discussions?

We are an open ended group that discusses intellectual, literary and cultural topics. Here you will have a role and vote in what we do and how we do it. Are you excited about sharing your ideas and thoughts?

Then you have found the perfect group for you! We look forward to welcoming you to the group and discussing some of your favorite topics.

We also grow organically and follow new ideas suggested by members. For example we occasionally go to concerts, eat out together, meet in Biergartens and enjoy musical evenings. Members suggest cultural activities ranging from birdwatching to museum visits.

To make sure we maintain the wished for atmosphere and dynamic, here are the guidelines for the group:

Every gathering is meant to be "an escape" to a fun and enriching place where we let loose and really get to know each other through our own cultures, opinions, preferences, hobbies, work, sports etc.

Whether it's a Book Night or a Culture Night, everyone expects and deserves a chance to share their own experiences and opinions (from their homelands or as an Expat in Germany). So in the spirit of Meetup Thursday, please note the following:

1. Avoid interrupting anyone until they are finished. 

2. We are not in a lecture hall. This is an opportunity to share and express, discuss and reflect, not to try and convince others of any personal views.

 3. Any private get-togethers/issues can be discussed after the Meetup (NOT during the session. Want to hang out after the Meetup? Just exchange numbers)

4. Be conscious of the time so that everyone gets a chance to talk.

5. Be prepared; if it's an unfamiliar topic why not read up a bit?... not taking part in the discussions defeats the purpose :(

6. Please do not talk while someone else has the floor. Side discussions are distracting and come across as rude whether or not that is the intention.

7. MOST important of all, just have some fun! After all, it's a fun place with cool people :)

Note about Coronavirus rules: The Club will take care to adhere to the then-current rules relating to meetings. In particular we will follow the rules as stated in:

What this means in particular as of 1/7/20 is:

Meetings will be limited to 10 attendees

We will use outdoor space when the weather allows and ventilate rooms when indoors

We will ensure social distancing (at least 1.5m between participants)

We will discourage any physical contact

We will encourage hand hygiene

There will be at least one accessible toilet that will be frequently cleaned and disinfected

All participants must be known by name and contact information in order to be admitted
