Events can both be planned and spontaneous.
If there is an event you´d like to attend with others, just write a message to the organizer to show it on the groups calendar.
(Anyway, the rule is not to "advertise" for events. If you want to attend a "third party" event and are looking for others to join you, I will be happy to enable an invitation on this Meetup group, but not if you´re inviting to an event arranged by yourself.)
