Demosthenes Toastmasters Club Meeting - Caltrans District 4 Bay Area Oakland

The Demosthenes Toastmasters Club was chartered in May 1967 by employees of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 4 Office in San Francisco. The club moved with the Caltrans District 4 Office to Uptown Oakland in 1994. Our members celebrated the Club's 57th Anniversary in 2024!

Our Club is an "open" community club that welcomes members from the public. Most of our members are Caltrans employees - project managers, engineers, planners, and right-of-way agents, and support staff/ analysts. Some of our members are early in their careers but want to improve their speaking, listening, and leadership skills. Others are preparing their next phases of their lives. All of our members joined our Club out of the desire to improve their communication skills, leadership skills and self-confidence.

• We may change room or cancel meeting due to unforeseen circumstances and/or conflict with special events/holidays.

Please contact ahead of your visit.

• Escorts are required for visitors who are non-Caltrans employees coming into the building.

• For visitor who is not a Caltrans employee:

• Please arrive early (say 11:15AM) so your escort can meet you in a timely manner during lunch time.

• Check in and check out at the Security Office, adjacent to the Security Console.

• Provide a Driver’s License or a government-issued ID for scanning.

• The visitor information will be electronically logged in to the system and a visitor badge with name and barcode will be provided to complete the check-in.

• The visitor badge must be displayed at all times while in the District 4 Office.

• The visitor must check out at the security office upon completion of the visit.
