I was invited to take on this group. I believe what drew original members to this group was the original description and focus of the group. Main excerpts of the original description are below. I will be introducing some exciting locations and capable models to add value to our group.
Main excerpt of original description that I will continue: "This is a meetup group for people who would like to gather together to shoot together, in various places around the metroplex, so that may may share with each our our images and improve our photography skills.
No photography experience is required to join this group. It's designed for amateurs and enthusiasts who love taking pictures and want to collaborate with others who do the same.
We only ask that you be interested in more then cell phone photography. Although cameras on cellular phones have become sophisticated enough to rival the imagery on same cameras, this group is meant for people who enjoy using cameras instead of cell phones to capture memories. The type of camera is irrelevant. It can be point and shoot, compact, dSLR, or mirrorless. Heck, it can even be film, if you enjoy shooting film."
That having been reiterated, workshops with models will be no larger than 7 shooters so everyone can get great shots. When models are scheduled, there will also be a small participation fee to cover the expense of the model and organize futire meetups.
