Whatever your interest in data ... from data curious to analyst, and data engineering to statistician, to data scientist ... there's a place for you at Nashville Data Nerds!
With a focus on meeting the needs of the data community, we have four gatherings a month:
Nashville Data Nerds meetup - 1st Wednesday of each month from 5-7pm
A hybrid meeting (in person and on Zoom) with Pizza and conversation from 5-5:30pm and 6:30-7pm with a few announcements and introductions along with a data centric presentation from 5:30-6:30pm.
Directors of Data Science Roundtable - 2nd Friday of each month from 3:30-5pm
A casual and open conversation driven by the interests and issues arising month to month by those in leadership roles in our local data science community.

Breakfast with Data Nerds - 3rd Tuesday of each month from 8:30-10am at Fido in Hillsboro Village.
Come join us for breakfast, conversation, and good people. A great way to get to know what's going on in the Nashville data community and make some good connections.
Brilliant Women in Data - 4th Tuesday of each month from 6-7pm. A wonderfully supportive group of talented data professionals meeting primarily on Zoom with engaging conversations and presentations facilitated by Iman Alodah.

In this session, she will dive into SQL Mesh, a (relatively) new open source data transformation tool. She will summarize its functionality in organizing, maintaining, and changing data transformation code in SQL or Python. She will explore SQL Mesh’s approach to ensuring data consistency, quality, and observability. Finally, she will discuss how SQL Mesh and dbt differ in their approach to data management.Speaker: Alice Leach
Data Engineer, Whatnot Inc.
Alice Leach is a Data Engineer at Whatnot Inc., a live stream platform and marketplace that enables collectors and enthusiasts to connect, buy, and sell verified products. She began her career in science, obtaining an MChem in Chemistry from the University of Oxford (2012) and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Materials Science from Vanderbilt University (2017). She then spent four years as a Research Assistant Professor at the Vanderbilt Institute of Nanoscale Science and Engineering. She transitioned from academia to data in 2021, working first as a data scientist then data engineer. Her current work at Whatnot focuses on designing and building robust, self-service data workflows using a modern data stack.Join us for the discussion! Nashville Data Nerds is a Data Analytics/Science meetup that meets monthly to explore data topics and to provide connections, resources, and community for data professionals.
The format of the meetings is as follows:
• 5:00pm Doors open for Conversation, Networking, and Pizza
• 5:10pm Zoom opens for Introductions and Conversation
• 5:30pm Welcome, Introductions, and a few Announcements
• 5:45pm Presentation Topic and Discussion
• 6:20pm Open Questions/Discussion
• 6:30pm - 7pm Conversation, Catching up, Building CommunityBeginning at 5:30pm, we'll take some time for Welcome and Introductions. Then we'll move into our main presentation/discussion for the evening. We'll have time for questions throughout and participation will be encouraged. Our speakers will appreciate the interaction!
After the discussion, we'll again have some time to stick around for conversation if you have interest ... to get to know each other better.
